Precision Utility Locating offers a 3 day hands on course of one-on-one field training with students graduating as Certified Utility Locators.
The hardest part of being a utility locator or leak locator is being capable of working independently completely by yourself, and working through all weather conditions depending on the area in which you operate. You will also need to keep a safe driving behavior at all times, as well as perform your job carefully to avoid damages due to improper utility locates.
A utility locator is responsible for locating, pinpointing and protecting the paths of cables, pipes and other conduits that carry the utilities underground. The Utility Locators job is to find, locate and protect underground utilities from damage that can occur during projects involving construction, excavation or demolition.
